This detailed Atlas Master Silver N Scale SMD SD9 locomotive is based on the 1,750-horsepower diesel-electric road switcher used by a number of railroads. Built between January 1954 and June 1959, a few of these long-lived units are still in operation in the 21st century and several are preserved in museums and on excursion railroads.
This N Scale SD9 replica features a scale-speed motor with dual flywheels, low-friction mechanism, directional golden-white LED lighting, a light board that's easily changed replaced with DCC decoder when you're ready, accurate decoration and AccuMate(R) magnetic knuckle couplers. It's also sound-ready and comes equipped with a factory-installed speaker for easy sound conversion. This EMD SD9 is one of many Atlas N Scale locomotives.
